Water filters are commonly use in every household. There is a wide selection out on the market. It can be as simple as using Brita and filter as you drink, or there are systems that include reverse osmosis and install by your kitchen faucet. Some people would even install water softener and filter system by their water heater, so even the water from showering can also be filtered. So, how do you know which one is the most suitable for you or you can use?
If you are planning to install the ones by the faucet, then you will need to see if you have a soap dispenser where you can leverage the pre-cut hole for the filter faucet, otherwise, you will have to see if drilling a new hole for the system is doable.
Then, if there is no existing hole or drilling a hole is not possible, then you can check for the space around your water heater. If you have extra space that you can set up an extra filter system next to it, then you can call your plumber and install for you. This may cost $800-$1500 depends on your system.
If there is no space, and no pre-drilled hole to leverage, then your last choice will be using a Brita or order bottle water to deliver to your home every week.
